Mimosas are bubbly, refreshing, and sweet. A mimosa is most commonly Orange Juice mixed with Champagne. Champagne is hands down one of my favorite libations! Today I’m showing you how to make Cosmo-mosas : a Mimosa meets a Cosmopolitan. A little bit of vodka, a little bit of cranberry juice, and a whole lot of champagne.
This drink comes together in minutes and can be poured right into your glass instead of using any kind of shaker.

Plus, these pack a little more of a kick then a traditional Mimosa but they are still super smooth.
Mimosas happen to be one of my favorite family Christmas morning traditions. A giant case of champagne bottles, a couple jugs of OJ in the fridge and there’s not an unjolly person in the whole house 🙂

That being said I’ve now decided Mimosas should be an all holiday tradition – Enter the Cosmo-Mosa! This cocktail is perfect for Easter or Mother’s Day (or you know Tuesday, Wednesday..any day really;))
The Cosmopolitan is pretty and pink (from the cranberry juice) it also contains: vodka, triple sec, and a splash of lime.

It became widely popular in the early 2000’s thanks to Carrie Bradshaw. Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex and the City. It was her signature drink!

I used to bartend for a long time and this drink was a classic staple. And I was totally there for it. It’s refreshing, has a kick. Fairly simple to make (and no blender required – double plus ;)) Throwing a little Champagne into the mix only ups its value!
