Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is a Value Resort located on the Disney World Property. It houses clean, comfortable, and most importantly affordable rooms!
We recently had the pleasure of staying here and I fell in love. I want to share my wonderful experience and a few tips as well.

Benefits of Staying Onsite
Since the Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is on Disney Property it qualifies for free transportation to and from the airport via The Magical Express. It also offers free shuttle service to all of the parks and Disney Springs!
You can make your Fast Pass Reservations for rides 60 days in advance, as well as dining reservations 180 days in advance.
Plus, if Extra Magic Hours (EMH) are being offered that day. only guests who stay on property (or at neighboring approved hotels) may attend! EMH are where the parks open up early, or stay open late just for people that stay on Disney Property. We were able to attend EMH at Magic Kingdom at night time and it was absolutely AMAZING! The wait times were so minimal, it blew my mind.
Magical Express

If you choose to use the Magical Express service you will be sent special tags to put on your luggage. Disney will collect your bags from the airport and deliver them straight to your room within a few hours.
We opted to bring our bags ourselves just so that we could ensure we had them right away. Once we retrieved our bags from the baggage claim carousel we followed the signs to the Magical Express. This was easy (just make sure you have your Magic Bands handy you’ll need them to board!) After finding a comfy spot on the bus, the bus left for the resort within about ten minutes. The departure time can vary depending on how many spots are still open on the bus. The ride was a comfortable one. The seats are cozy enough & there are numerous video screens with Disney Cartoons and informational videos playing. I thought this was great for the kids (even though mine fell asleep on the way there ;)) .

The bus stopped at All Star Music and All Star Sports before finally letting us off at All Star Movies. When we arrived to our Resort, check in was a breeze. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We were given maps to all of the parks we would be visiting and asked if we would like to forgo mousekeeping for a free gift card instead. We were happy to decline the maid service and accepted the gift card. They will give you $10.00 for every night minus the first night. So, we stayed four nights and were given a $30.00 gift card (which we later used on pizza and drinks!)
The Property
The first thing you will notice is that the buildings where the rooms are located are divided into different sections. These consist of : Toy Story, Love Bug, Fantasia, 101 Dalmations, and The Mighty Ducks! There are huge, and I mean huggggee statues of characters/ nods to each of the movies! I think this was my most favorite part (and my sons!). We requested the Toy Story section. It was amazing! If you or your children are Toy Story fans, I HIGHLY recommend it! The Toy Story section is also located close to dining, transportation, the main pool, and a playground.

Toy Story Building
On your way into the Toy Story section you’ll be greeted by RC.

Next, you’ll notice the giant version of Andy’s Door designed to make you feel as though you are walking right into Andy’s room!

Disney does detail like no other! My son loved stopping to see the statues and take pictures every time we entered or exited the courtyard, and I was totally here for it!

The other sections are equally as cool, especially 101 Dalmatians!
Rooms

Inside the rooms are clean and comfy!

There were two queen size beds. One was a Murphy bed which was really cool, because you can easily fold it up and then you have a dining table!

There is a large TV, mini fridge, and coffee maker. There was enough counter space for the food we had delivered.
The bathroom was clean and there was PLENTY of counter/storage space for our nighttime essentials!

A little closet ish area and a separate toilet/shower area. There were hangers and a blow dryer. The Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash are big bottles in the shower that are refillable by staff. We thought they were great and I didn’t even break out the travel toiletries I had packed “just in case”.
Buses
To find out the bus schedule you can easily check the app or the tv screens located by the bus stops! We meant to check the times every morning, but forgot and ended up just lucking out and never waiting more than ten minutes for a bus to pick us up.
Some of the time the three All Star Resorts share buses. Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is the last stop, which means sometimes the buses are pretty crowded by the time they get to Movies Resort, but we never had to wait for a second bus and there was plenty of standing room.
Dining
There is a food court located on the property. It has a cinema theme! There are a few different food “stands” located in it serving various foods from burgers/fries – salads/pastas etc. You can get breakfast in the morning (yes they have coffee and Mickey Mouse Waffles 😉) , you can grab lunch (pasta anyone ?) , dinner or even late night food! They are open until midnight.
One night after a late night at Animal Kingdom we were able to grab some burgers and fries and take them back to our room. The kids meal was perfect because it even came with two sides and a drink! Apple slices, a fruit yogurt smoothie, and a chocolate milk with his burger.. my little man was loving it. I loved the bacon cheeseburger , as burgers go it was really very good!

We also grabbed a gourmet cupcake from the refrigerated section. The refrigerated section houses everything from beer/wine to carrot sticks and apples!
There is also room service. One night it was getting late and I had a migraine so we really didn’t feel like leaving for food, this is where room service was convenient. We were able to order a large Pepperoni Pizza and it was delicious plus we had a few extra slices leftover we placed in the mini fridge for the next day! Room service also offers salads, wings, and other options!
Pools
There are two pools and a splash pad. One pool is located in the mighty ducks section.

The other pool, (the main pool) is the Fantasia pool. It has a Mickey from Fantasia with fountains of water that land into the pool. It’s large and accommodating. My son loved the fountains. I loved that there were life jackets on site! This meant we didn’t have to bring his from home. That would’ve taken up way too much room in the luggage. He’s a pretty good swimmer, but loves the luxury of being able to go to the deep end or anywhere he wants and still keep his head up!

There’s a little pool bar right across from the Fantasia Pool. They have excellent Froze and Margaritas if you’re looking for something refreshing! We wished we had spent more time at the pool! Next time we will build in more relaxation time!
Arcade

Ok, I know ..I know, there are arcades everywhere, so it may not be the best use of time to spend time in the arcade while at Disney. But there is an Arcade located near the lobby and it is open 24 hours. It’s a nice little pit stop after a long day at the parks or on your way out in the morning. It was never overly crowded and my son loved spending a little down time in there! We even went in the photo booth a few times!

Souvenir Shop
There’s also a souvenir shop located in the lobby which was great because we were able to grab an autograph book on the way to the parks while we waited for the buses one morning, another day we grabbed a little souvenir for my son as we had promised him he could pick something only when we left the parks we forgot to stop. Another day I grabbed some Tylenol 😂. It was nice to have a shop on site for whatever last minute things we needed!
We’ll Be Back
All in all we had a blast at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort! It was extremely affordable, yet still had all of the amenities we were looking for in a Disney Resort! Plus, it was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

May 22, 2019 at 3:20 pmWow what a vacation! Such good info! I grew up in Orlando so I don’t really get to be a real tourist and stay at Disney hotels when we go back to visit my parents. But maybe one of these days we will pretend we are on vacation there 🙂 This place looks awesome! I remember All Star Sports but I know so much has changed!
