So, I currently have a whole bunch of Guinness Beer left in my fridge after making my favorite St. Patrick’s Day Cheesecake. But, I want to do something a little different this time and make a Three Cheese Guiness Crab Dip! The secret to a great Crab Dip is really the crab, use real lump crab meat, highlight it & don’t forget the Old Bay 😉
By adding the beer we are going to add in a rich depth that pairs well with the cheese. The alcohol content will cook out leaving just the rich flavor behind. I love pairing this dip with soft pretzels, sliced baguette, or even tortilla chips!
This recipe is really quick to put together & is great for parties! It also taste just as amazing as a cold dip, after blending just scoop it straight into a bowl and omit the shredded cheddar at the end. Just remember if you don’t cook it, you will still have the alcohol content inside.
Making The Dip
To begin I mix everything right in the food processor. First, add the Lemon juice, Cream Cheese, Greek yogurt, Worcestershire, & Mayonaise.
Next, add in the Garlic Powder, Paprika, Old Bay, Green Onions, Shaved Parmesan, Minced onion, the Beer, & the chopped Red Peppers. Blend well. Now you will want to take the dip and fold in the crab meat by hand.
Spray a baking dish with non stick cooking spray. Transfer the dip into your dish. Top it with your shredded cheddar cheese, you can be as liberal as you want. I just used about a half of a cup (covering it entirely).
Finally, I baked it in the oven for about 35 minutes at 350°. It’s done when the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. You’ll want to let it cool for at least 5-8 minutes so it’s not piping hot! Serve alongside your favorite bread, crackers, chips, or even veggie sticks.
