One of my favorite summer pairs just so happens to be Watermelon and Basil. In these Watermelon Basil Mojitos your taste buds will love the sweet, aromatic basil paired with the juicy, refreshing watermelon! These two are muddled together with a little rum and a few other classic Mojito ingredients!
Watermelon Basil Mojitos
Start by cutting your watermelon into chunks. Make sure you are using a seedless watermelon. Set your watermelon aside and chop up some basil leaves!

Place about 3 Watermelon Cubes and a Tbsp of chopped Basil in your glass. Add a splash of lime juice and begin to muddle your fruit.
If you don’t have a muddler. Think about getting one because they always make a great addition to any home bar. Especially, if you love using fresh fruit in your cocktails. Check below for one of my favorite wooden muddlers!
In the meantime feel free to use the bottom of a wooden spoon!
When you muddle, you are basically smashing, smooshing, and mixing the watermelon and basil to release their essence.
Next, fill your glass with ice. I used crushed ice. ( A few minutes in the blender and my ice was the texture of snow!) Add a couple more watermelon cubes and a little more chopped basil.
Pour in an ounce of Rum, whichever kind you prefer. I always like to use something clear. I find it to be much smoother in Mojitos.

Add one cup of watermelon juice. You can easily puree watermelon and make your own juice. Or you can do what I did and use Simply Watermelon Juice.
Stir cocktail. Finally, top it with a splash of club soda!

I garnished mine with a watermelon spear and a basil leave!

These Watermelon Basil Mojitos are perfectly refreshing for a nice warm summer day. If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic version check out my Watermelon Basil Granita . This Granita is actually what inspired these Mojitos!
